Carol (Cay) Gould

I have been what I would call an ‘intermittent’ artist since elementary school. During my career as a community planner, I spent my free time dabbling in various mediums and crafts, including sketching, watercolors, stained and fused glass art, and I wrote two books. Since retiring, I have been focusing on watercolors, acrylics, and my glasswork. I attempt to capture and share what speaks to me in the beauty of vistas, ordinary objects, and nature close up. As someone who loves to wander, I am drawn particularly to the subjects of paths, roads, trails and places that invite you to wander through.

While I have taken a number of classes, I am basically a self-taught artist, whose style is impressionistic with a dash of detail. I am hopefully ever evolving. I am grateful to have found the community of Ten-2-One Artists, benefiting from their friendship and being in the company of so many talented, diverse artists.
